Vinyl Ventures
Vinyl Ventures is a dynamic five-piece classic rock cover band based in Southcentral Pennsylvania. Our passion for music and performance brings together a diverse group of talented musicians who share a common love for the timeless sounds of classic rock. With years of experience in the music industry, our band members have honed their skills to deliver high-energy performances that resonate with audiences of all ages.
At Vinyl Ventures, our mission is to celebrate the iconic music of the classic rock era while creating an unforgettable live experience for our fans. We aim to transport our audience back to the golden age of rock and roll through authentic renditions of beloved hits from legendary artists. Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a large festival, we strive to make every performance memorable.
Our lineup consists of five dedicated musicians, each bringing their unique flair and expertise to the stage.
Dave
Vocals
"Philly" Dave - Born and raised in NE Phladelphia playing hockey and football. He grew up listening to his Dad always singing Frank Sinatra and big band. Music has been a life long passion since the womb. He is a singer first, but also plays a little rhythm guitar and keys/piano. He also thinks we can always use more cowbell.
Allen
Lead Guitar/ Vocals
Allen hails from Manheim Township near Lancaster City, PA - self-taught at 14 and playing now for over 5 decades. His guitar skills run from lead to rhythm and slide, not afraid to expand his repertoire, as well as his equipment. He is partial to a clean, single-coil Fender guitar sound (with or without a smidge of overdrive) as well as the throaty warmth of a Gibson as well. Combine this with his collection of multi-effects pedals, he creates his favorite genre: blues, as well as his favorite classic rock tunes from the 60s and early 70s. As a retired teacher and licensed attorney, he started with rock bands in college growing into lead guitar for multiple classic rock bands over the years playing an assortment of local venues including the Lancaster Eden, Pub Dunegal, The Chameleon and Lancaster Tennis & Yacht Club, plus a number of local festivals. Touching upon his style, he states he’d rather effects not get in the way of the genuine guitar and amp sounds. This boomer constantly expands his prowess to bring the fun to each show!
BRUCE
Keyboard/ Accoustic Guitar/ Vocals
Bruce hales from the west coast. He grew up in Vancouver B.C. Canada, moved to Washington state in 2009. New to Pa, he and his wife Cindy moved to Lancaster county in 2021 to be closer to family.
Bruce has been playing the piano since the age of 3. His parents realized that he was playing and naming the same songs and actually composing music each time they asked him to play. He started royal conservatory piano lessons at the age of 4 and was studying for his degree at the age of 14. At this point he played in several bands through high school and then eventually played professionally from the mid 70’s to early 80’s. He retired from a long career in sales in 2022 and immediately wanted to join or form a classic rock band. He is having a blast playing with Vinyl Ventures!
Don
Bass/Vocals
Don is new to Pennsylvania, and has lived in many states along the East Coast. Growing up in New Jersey, he was a member of a generation that began playing guitar immediately after seeing The Beatles on Ed Sullivan. Don played in a number of bands throughout high school, college, and then balanced his music with an IT career. He decided to put down the music due to his new family and active career. Now retired, he is musically active once again.
Don is a multi-instrumentalist, and plays bass, guitar, and keyboards. Recently he has appeared extensively in the Smith Mountain Lake area of Virginia, playing charitable and non-charitable events. Don has also judged vocal competitions, and has arranged and produced CD's for a variety of artists, including himself. Being the bass player for the Vinyl Ventures, your feet will start tapping to his deep licks.
Lori
Drums/Vocals
Lori is a passionate drummer with a lifelong love for music given to her by my musically talented father. Growing up surrounded by melodies, she quickly found my rhythm singing in my families restaurant from the age of 8, setting the beat for a variety of genres like new wave, pop, top 40, classic rock and even metal. She has played as keyboard player, singer and drummer in a variety of bands.
One of the highlights of her musical journey was when she got the chance to rock the stage as a drummer in a dueling piano bar in Tampa, Florida. . It was an experience of a lifetime! Collaborating with talented pianists and creating an electric atmosphere for the audience was pure magic.
And now, she is super excited to be playing with an amazing classic rock cover band Vinyl Ventures. She’s ready to take the music scene by storm and pursue her musical dreams with the other members of the band. She can't wait to see where this musical journey takes her.
